Special Educational Needs and Disability

At Bugbrooke School we are committed to inclusion and endeavour to support and nurture all the children in our school, whatever their individual need, to be the best that they can be.

Miss Sarah Jones is the school's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator and is available for parents to contact regarding concerns or questions around their child's needs via the school office.

You can find our SEN Policy and Information Report here.

The Disabled Children’s Register and West SEND News - WNC

The Disabled Children's Register (DCR) is a database of young people (aged 0 to 25) living in West Northamptonshire with disabilities.

The duty of local authorities to carry out the "maintenance of a register of disabled children" is part of the Children's Act 1989 (chapter 41, Schedule 2, Part I).

The DCR only includes information about disabled children that parents or carers supply voluntarily. The local authority does not include children on the database without parental consent.

In West Northamptonshire, the Disabled Children's Register used to be called the Special Needs Index (SNIX).

The DCR helps the local authority plan services for children with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND).
