Learning Area

There are lots of things you can be doing with your child to help them be ready for learning at school but arguably the most important is talking to them and encouraging them to talk to you. What they talk about is not important, anything to do with their everyday life, going to the shops, their toys, their family. Talking with children helps to develop their thinking and their ability to reason and explain that thinking – why is often the best question! Developing their speaking and listening skills will build their confidence and help them to be ready to take turns and participate in groups and as part of a whole class.
